Tactile Response
Are your customers demanding a “snap” or some kind of “spring” from their buttons? We have many options to fulfill that need.
There are three basic kinds of tactile feedback:
1. Metal Domes
2. Formed Tactile Domes in a Non-Graphic Substrate
3. Formed Tactile Domes in a Graphic
Metal domes are available in a range of sizes and tactile strengths. Metal domes provide a simple method to get a tactile response and is the most used method of achieving tactile response in the Membrane Switch field.
Polydome
Formed, non-graphic tactile domes are made using a thermal forming process. The polyester will not decoin (turn upside down), nor will it move around like a metal dome can inside a switch. They are formed into a solid layer of material incorporated into the switch.
Graphic Domes
Formed, graphic tactile domes are also available in a range of sizes and tactile strengths. Forming the tactile domes into the graphic this way can provide a strong feedback negating the need for any of the other methods of achieving tactile response.
